Orange Dog Investments, LLC ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") operates the ChatAi mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to provide the App's core functionality (generating AI-powered text replies). The App does not require account creation, login, or personal identifiers unless you voluntarily provide them.

  • Information You Provide Directly:
    • Text messages you input (e.g., "Their message" and "Include" fields) — this may include personal or sensitive content.
    • Optional selections (e.g., relationship type, tone, style, emoji toggle).
  • Automatically Collected Information:
    • Device information (e.g., device type, OS version, IP address, app version).
    • Usage data (e.g., number of generations, timestamps, crash logs) for app improvement and debugging.

We do not collect: Names, emails, phone numbers, location data, contacts, photos, or other identifiers unless explicitly typed into message fields by you.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

  • Generate AI-powered reply suggestions based on your inputs.
  • Process and improve the App (e.g., bug fixes, performance).
  • Enforce safety features (e.g., detecting crisis language and providing resources).
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your message content to train AI models, build user profiles, or for advertising.

3. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We may share information in limited ways:

  • With Third-Party AI Service Providers: The App sends your input text (messages) to xAI (Grok) for processing and generating replies. This is a third-party AI service. We disclose this clearly in the App (e.g., via consent prompt before first use). You must provide explicit permission for this sharing. xAI processes data per their privacy policy (available at https://x.ai/legal/privacy-policy). We do not retain copies of your messages after generation.
  • Service Providers: Limited to hosting, analytics (anonymized), or crash reporting (anonymized data only).
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights/safety.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share for marketing or unrelated purposes.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures (e.g., encryption in transit, secure API calls) to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

Input messages are processed temporarily and not stored by us after reply generation. Usage/device data is retained only as long as needed (typically 12 months or less) for analytics/improvement, then deleted or anonymized.

6. Third-Party AI Disclosure (Apple & General Requirement)

As required by Apple App Store Guidelines (Section 5.1.2(i)), we explicitly disclose that personal data (your message inputs) may be shared with third-party AI services (xAI/Grok) to generate replies. You will be prompted for explicit consent before any such sharing occurs. You can withdraw consent by not using the feature or uninstalling the App.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location:

  • CCPA/CPRA (California Residents): You may request access to, deletion of, or opt-out of certain uses of your personal information. Contact us to exercise rights.
  • GDPR (EU/EEA Residents): You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object. We process data based on your consent or legitimate interests (app functionality).

Opt-out: Uninstall the App to stop all data collection.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have, we will delete it. Contact us immediately if you believe a child has provided data.

9. International Data Transfers

Data may be processed in the United States or other countries. We use appropriate safeguards for transfers.

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Significant changes (e.g., new data sharing) will be notified in-app.
